DESCRIPTION
SALINO-COX 12%
COMPOSITION:
Active Ingredient-Salinomycin Sodium 120 gms /Kg
MODE OF ACTION:
Salinomycin is a polyether ionophore antibiotic. It exerts anticoccidial effect on most of the Eimaria spp. In poultry (Eimeria acervulina, E. maxima, E. necatrix, E. mivati, E. tenella, E. brunetti) as well as in the other farm animals (E. meleagridis, E. meleagrimitis, E. bovis, etc.). It is active against gram-positive microorganisms, some anaerobes. The mode of action of Salinomycin is based on its ability to form lipophilic complexes, making the cellular membranes of coccidia permeable to alkaline ions. In this way, the intracellular ion concentration in the parasite cells is disturbed and anticoccidial effect of the preparation is achieved. Salinomycin acts on earliest stage of coccidia development hindering the maturity of the schizonts and the development of merozoites.
INDICATIONS:
For prevention and control of coccidiosis in chickens for fattening, replacement layer and breeders up to 16 weeks of age.
